The transient is possibly associated with NGC4434; a W1=9.88 mag galaxy found in the NED-D/LASR catalogues. Its located 55.27" S, 42.05" W (7.6 Kpc) from the galaxy centre. A host distance of 22.5 Mpc(z=0.004) implies a m - M = 31.76.
