The transient was discovered on 3rd April 2021 at 07:08:01 (MJD 59307.30) by ZTF as ZTF19aagthvg with a discovery magnitude of g = 20.68. It was subsequently classified as a SN Ia at z = 0.154.

Sherlock Contextual Classification

Prediction: Supernova

The transient is possibly associated with VCC0855; a W1=15.84 mag galaxy found in the LASR catalogue. Its located 1.41" N, 41.03" E (2.7 Kpc) from the galaxy centre. A host z=0.003 implies a m - M = 30.67.
