The transient is possibly associated with IC3414; a J=12.95 mag galaxy found in the NED-D/SDSS/LASR/2MASS catalogues. Its located 5.69" S, 5.31" E (0.6 Kpc) from the galaxy centre. A host distance of 17.7 Mpc(z=0.002) implies a m - M = 31.24.
