The transient was discovered on 30th March 2021 at 08:36:49 (MJD 59303.36) by ZTF as ZTF21aaqytjr with a discovery magnitude of g = 17.71. It was subsequently classified as a SN Ia at z = 0.003.
Sherlock Contextual Classification
Prediction: Supernova
The transient is possibly associated with IC3322A; an r=13.06 mag galaxy found in the NED-D/SDSS/LASR catalogues. Its located 42.20" N, 12.40" W (5.4 Kpc) from the galaxy centre. A host distance of 25.3 Mpc(z=0.003) implies a m - M = 32.02.
