The transient is possibly associated with IC3414; an r=13.27 mag galaxy found in the NED-D/SDSS/LASR catalogues. Its located 11.20" S, 2.30" E (1.0 Kpc) from the galaxy centre. A host distance of 17.7 Mpc(z=0.002) implies a m - M = 31.24.
