The transient is possibly associated with NGC4309; a J=10.63 mag AGN found in the NED-D/SDSS/LASR/DESI/PS1/2MASS catalogues. Its located 3.60" S, 5.40" W (0.9 Kpc) from the AGN centre. A host distance of 28.3 Mpc(z=0.003) implies a m - M = 32.26.
