The transient is possibly associated with NGC4356; a J=10.67 mag galaxy found in the NED-D/LASR/2MASS catalogues. Its located 3.13" S, 2.93" W (0.5 Kpc) from the galaxy centre. A host distance of 22.7 Mpc(z=0.004) implies a m - M = 31.78.
