The transient is possibly associated with IC3322; an r=13.38 mag galaxy found in the NED/NED-D/SDSS/LASR catalogues. Its located 22.90" N, 5.24" W (2.3 Kpc) from the galaxy centre. A host distance of 20.1 Mpc(z=0.004) implies a m - M = 31.52.
