The transient is possibly associated with IC3322; a J=11.37 mag galaxy found in the NED/NED-D/SDSS/LASR/2MASS catalogues. Its located 2.08" N, 0.43" W (0.2 Kpc) from the galaxy centre. A host distance of 20.1 Mpc(z=0.004) implies a m - M = 31.52.
