The transient is possibly associated with NGC4276; a W1=12.32 mag galaxy found in the NED-D/LASR catalogues. Its located 16.52" S, 59.15" W (8.3 Kpc) from the galaxy centre. A host distance of 27.9 Mpc(z=0.009) implies a m - M = 32.23.
