The transient is possibly associated with NGC4309A; a J=13.89 mag galaxy found in the NED-D/SDSS/LASR/DESI/PS1/2MASS catalogues. Its located 0.08" S, 2.04" E (0.2 Kpc) from the galaxy centre. A host distance of 22.9 Mpc(z=0.003) implies a m - M = 31.80.
