The transient was discovered on 1st February 2024 at 08:33:59 (MJD 60341.36) by ZTF as ZTF24aaedncr with a discovery magnitude of r = 18.60. It was subsequently classified as a SN Ia at z = 0.076.
Sherlock Contextual Classification
Prediction: Supernova
The transient is possibly associated with NGC4353; an r=13.41 mag galaxy found in the NED-D/SDSS/LASR catalogues. Its located 28.20" S, 4.70" E (4.2 Kpc) from the galaxy centre. A host distance of 30.8 Mpc(z=0.004) implies a m - M = 32.44.
