The transient is possibly associated with NGC4356; a J=10.67 mag galaxy found in the NED/NED-D/LASR/2MASS catalogues. Its located 1.92" N, 1.55" E (0.3 Kpc) from the galaxy centre. A host distance of 22.7 Mpc(z=0.004) implies a m - M = 31.78.
