The transient is possibly associated with NGC4356; a J=10.67 mag galaxy found in the NED/NED-D/LASR/2MASS catalogues. Its located 5.36" N, 2.41" E (0.6 Kpc) from the galaxy centre. A host distance of 22.7 Mpc(z=0.004) implies a m - M = 31.78.
