The transient is possibly associated with NGC3044; a J=10.04 mag galaxy found in the NED/NED-D/LASR/2MASS catalogues. Its located 0.75" S, 1.82" W (0.1 Kpc) from the galaxy centre. A host distance of 21.1 Mpc(z=0.004) implies a m - M = 31.62.
